Researchers analyzed information from more than 50,000 participants and discovered four important factors associated with a decrease in body mass index (BMI):
- Eating only one or two meals per day.
- Maintaining an overnight fast of up to 18 hours.
- Making breakfast or lunch the largest meal of the day.
- Making breakfast the largest meal resulted in lower BMI than making lunch the biggest.
LifeTip: The two factors associated with higher BMI were eating more than three meals a day (snacks count as a meal) and making supper the largest meal of the day. Watch “Lose Weight Naturally” with Dr. David DeRose for more recommendations.

This is all good news. I have some reservations regarding the 2 meal plan. I recently switched from being a meat eater ,to having more vegetarian meals, but I find myself hungrier and having to eat more often. I’m not a fan of eating soy products or make believe meat and since I’m gluten sensitive I’m better off staying away from the crumbles and mock chicken. What do you suggest ???+
If you are feeling hungrier you just need to eat more fruits, nuts, grains, vegetable. Especially foods with insoluble fiber. It keeps you filled longer. Also don’t be afraid to eat more of the foods above. They are low in calories. You probably just need to figure out what is the correct portion size for you to feel and stay full for 4 to 6 hours. I try to go crazy on breakfast and find that if I have a large serving of leaving greens along side the afternoon meal I’m thoroughly satisfied.
I would suggest making sure your meals are bigger. Meat fills you up more easily so as a vegetarian your meals should be a bit larger since it digest faster. I know what you mean about the fake meats, some of them are very oily too. I found that drinking a lot of water and herbal teas help a lot. Your body will take some time to adapt to your new diet but in the end you won’t regret it 🙂
I ate breakfast and lunch only for a couple of years and stayed healthy. My weight was 122 and I am 5′ 41/2″. I started eating 3 meals then 3 meals plus in between eating, and I gained 28 pounds. It is horrible to be so out of control.
