I have had the wonderful privilege of working with Dr. DeRose, MD and Trudie Li, FNP at the Weimar Institute as medical exercise specialist, which is a world renown lifestyle center for those who want to reverse chronic illness such as diabetes. I am so proud of this book, and wish I had the opportunity to write an exercise prescription for HBP patients. I have always respected Dr. DeRose love and compassion to see his patients healthy. I’m also happy that he has made this book available at a price that anyone can afford. It has always been my crusade to see a book of this caliber available to low income families that cannot afford health care and I’m proud of this book. Because of this I’m now making this book available in my lifestyle coaching practice as a hospital and law enforcement chaplain to help both unhealthy police officers and patients overcome these modern day chronic illnesses. Thank you again Dr. DeRose your friend and colleague. Derrick Hall, B.Sc., ACSM HFS, CMES.

I have had a challenge with my blood pressure for several years even medication has not controlled it well. I decided to follow suggestions in Dr. De Rose’s book and have seen a remarkable improvement. The book is easy to read and understand. I am an RN and have recommended to my peers as well as patients

Every generation in my family has Hypertension. I didn’t want to be hypertensive and I tried to avoid it. I’m not overweight and I eat relatively healthly. After 2 children I didn’t have hypertension. After the birth of our third child I had acute emotional stress because of many uncontrollable issues. My blood pressure was extremely elevated. I remembered this book which I read to help my patients and family members and friends but not myself because my blood pressure was normal. Now I’m the patient! I started purposefully exercising. Also I stopped complaining and fretting about my problems. I took myself off the medications and started taking garlic pills three times a day, Omega 3 flaxseed capsules and a probiotic. I used garlic freely in my cooking and added turmeric to my rice. I even drank hibiscus juice. My diet was already plant based and low sodium and my dominant beverage was water. I now omitted added sugars. With prayer and a healthy diet I put it before God. I watched my pressure decline. It was 180-200/100-119 when upset, anxious, and complaining, and 140-150/90-100 at other times. (Paroxysmal hypertension) Miraculously I’m getting 125/80-86 on waking and as low as 115/65 throughout the day. I’m going to keep it up and see those morning pressures return to my normal level~110/65. God is really amazing! During that time I also focused on how Jesus had to suffer the worst for my sins. Abandonment, ridicule, terrible things. I saw that no struggle I go through can compare to what he went through. He left paradise to come to a graveyard like Earth. Then my troubles melted into Oblivion. They can’t compare. And Jesus’ strength through his struggle is available to me in my struggle!
I give 5 stars because the evidence is clearly presented and the methods advocated lead to reproduceable results by God’s grace! (N. B. My stress was due to the death of my second son and feelings of fear of losing the third son, also feelings of abandonment and other stressful life circumstances.)
