They’re everywhere. We can’t always avoid them!

Colds. The “flu.” Viral and bacterial infections that make you sick, tired, and unproductive. Or worse.

10-colds-flusBut does that mean we cloister ourselves indoors during flu season and keep from going to work, to school, to church, or to social gatherings?

I sure hope not. There are so many easy, practical ways to maximize immune function, and I’d hate for you to miss out on life because you’re fearful of getting sick yet again.

It’s no question that even a common cold can disrupt our lives. And repeated infections can also make us depressed or cause serious complications like bronchitis, pneumonia, strep, croup, tonsillitis, laryngitis, RSV, sinus infections…

But you don’t have to succumb to these ailments. In fact, did you know that thousands of people have developed the ability to become exposed to a virus and never get sick? We call this an “inapparent infection,” and I’ve actually come across cases of people being infected with Ebola and never actually coming down with the symptoms.

And if this can happen with Ebola, surely this type of immune health can be achieved to fight colds and influenza. I know it can, and I’d like to share these health-boosting strategies with you.

Information Overload

10-colds-flus2There are so many products on the market that exist to alleviate our cold and flu symptoms, and some even boast the ability to give a temporary immune boost. But most of these products will do little to truly strengthen your immune system, especially long-term, which can keep you from getting sick in the first place.

Aside from the pharmacy counter, if you search for cold and flu remedies, you’ll find a flood of information, some of it conflicting, about new herbal treatments, new vaccines, or “old weird tricks” that banish the flu virus from our residences. I’m sure you’ve seen some of these ads!

But the only tried-and-true way to protect yourself from repeated viral infections, and many bacterial infections as well, is to maintain a lifestyle that continually supports a healthy, resilient immune system.

Occam’s Razor for Cold Prevention

As a nod to the old English scholastic philosopher, the simpler, more practical solutions in life are often the best and most reliable. You can try all the old weird tricks you want—and some of them might work—but wouldn’t you rather stick to a set of basic, fundamental habits you can trust to keep you healthy, and that will improve your overall lifestyle in general?

lifestart-acronymThese are the principles of LifeStart. This approach to complete wellness utilizes proper and targeted nutrition, healthy relationships, exercise, sunlight, rest, fresh air, and wholesome, constructive lifestyle habits. I have seen these elements work together to support a higher level of wellness, and a robust immune system.

Does this sound too good to be true?

It’s not, and I can show you the evidence in my free 30-minute seminar, Avoid Colds & Flus Naturally.

For example, did you know that certain hygiene practices, such as simple hand-washing, can decrease your chance of viral exposure significantly? Maybe you already knew that, but I wonder how often you consider what our hands come in contact with on a daily basis.

Money can harbor the influenza virus for many days. You receive your change from a sick cashier, and you unconsciously rub your eyes. You’ve just introduced influenza into your system. But if you get in the habit of washing your hands after routine encounters with what we might call “public objects,” such as money, doorknobs, shopping carts, gas pumps, etc., you’ll have a much better chance of avoiding exposure.

Stop Infections in Their Tracks

But there’s more. We’re not just talking about avoidance. As I mentioned earlier, we can strengthen our bodies’ defenses and fight the infection before we come down with symptoms.

10-colds-flus3Hygiene still plays a big part, of course, but so does the right kind of exercise, the best beverage choices, the proper amounts of sleep and the avoidance of stress all contribute greatly to sustainable wellness.

We’re just scratching the surface here. To learn more about how to cultivate these habits and find out just how good you could be feeling all the time, meet me at LifeStartSeminars.com. There you can attend my free 30-minute presentation online, from the comfort of your own home.

For best results, however, I recommend you connect with a local support center and surround yourself with a community of supportive peers who are also seeking to boost their overall health and fight back against the prevalent infections we face so often.
